Still, blockchain projects could pressure traditional providers to improve. Banks may adopt a combination of systems rather than choosing one network exclusively. Traditional messaging networks, instant payment rails, stablecoins, and tokenized deposits could operate together in the same financial ecosystem.
The Role of Stablecoins

Stablecoins may be central to blockchain-based international payments. These digital tokens are designed to track the value of assets such as the US dollar. They can provide a common settlement instrument between parties operating in different countries.
